S-Chelate Plant Food for Healthy Plants and Soil
You can spend hours tending to your indoor and outdoor plants, but if the soil you grow those plants in lacks the full range of nutrients for optimum health, then your plants will become unhealthy and it will show.
Just like us, plants need a complete range of nutrients to grow strong – and if they have a nutritional deficiency then they will never reach their full potential. There are several tell-tale signs of micronutrient deficiency in plants:
- Boron deficiency: Leads to discolouration, breaking and dropping of buds.
- Sulphur deficiency: Leaves become light green, the veins are pale green and there are no spots.
- Manganese deficiency: Leaves are pale in colour while veins and venules are dark green and reticulated.
- Zinc deficiency: Pale leaf edges which have cup-shaped folds with no spots. Leaves will die in extreme deficiency.
- Phosphorus deficiency: The plant will appear short and dark green in colour – except in extreme deficiencies with it may turn brown or black, and bronze on the underside of the leaf.
- Calcium deficiency: The plant will appear dark green while tender leaves pale. Drying will start from the tips and leaf buds will eventually die.
- Iron deficiency: The leaves will become pale whist major veins are green with no spotting.
- Copper deficiency: The leaves will appear pale pink between the veins, and they will wilt and drop.
- Molybdenum deficiency: Leaves will appear light green, lemon yellow or orange. Spots will appear on the leaf, excluding the veins and sticky secretions will appear on the underside.
- Potassium deficiency: The edges of the leaves will turn pale, and the tips will fold and develop small spots which will turn rusty in colour.
Nurture your plants with S-Chelate plant food
S-Chelate plant food has been formulated scientifically to deliver the essential micronutrients that each plant requires with the optimum level of chelation (transporting nutrients quickly into the plant). Sometimes, even if nutrients are present in the soil, they may be locked up by the acidity or alkalinity which is measured by pH levels. S-Chelate micronutrients remain water soluble over a wide range of pH levels and so they can be efficiently transported to where they are needed.
The biologically-friendly formula is packed with small quantities of various minerals which have long been recognised as essential to the healthy growth of plants. Our chelating agent is environmentally friendly because it is produced through a biological fermentation process instead of a synthetic chemical process that is less bio-accumulative than other chelating systems so it does not build up in the environment
