The four RHS Gardens have clocked up a combined total of over 2,000,000 garden visits in the past year.
The RHS counts its annual visitor numbers from February 1 through to January 31, and number 2,000,000 – Jenny Paxman from Guildford, who was visiting with her children James and Anna – walked through the gates of RHS Garden Wisley at 10.33am on January 27. She was greeted by Director of Customer and Commercial Sally Charleton and the gift of a Lifetime Membership of the RHS.
RHS Director General Sue Biggs says, “As we grow our garden visitor numbers, we hope to further inspire a passion for gardening among more people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.” In 2015 the RHS launched its Vision: to enrich everyone’s life through plants, make the UK a greener and more beautiful place, and reach people who may never have visited a garden or horticultural show before. A fifth garden, RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford, will open in 2019.
