PRICE GUIDE £15 + £7.50 for the oil

KG VERDICT

Having given the blades a drop of camellia oil you can then use the Crean Mate to gently rub away any accumulations of rust, dirt and plant residue. Worked a treat on a range of secateurs and snips. A note from Niwaki, however: “The Crean Mate has a fairly rough texture and might scratch polished surfaces, so we suggest testing before use on prize blades.”

TOP PICK

PRODUCT CODE: ALG25
PRICE GUIDE: £9.99

KG VERDICT

This 2.5 litre bottle will go quite a long way, especially if you use a spray (60sqm), though a watering can be used (though less efficiently). Once diluted (1/3 Algon/water) simply apply it on a dry day and leave it to do its work. Safe for pets and wildlife. Suitable for most non-metallic products.
